What civil services interview practice covers

The UPSC Civil Services Personality Test is the final stage after Mains. It runs roughly 25 to 35 minutes with a board of senior bureaucrats and academics, who probe on current affairs, your DAF (Detailed Application Form), ethical scenarios drawn from public administration, and one or two state-specific issues. Marks are out of 275 and often determine final service allocation.

Each interview here is a 20 to 30 minute live conversation modelled on candidate accounts from 2023 to 2026 boards. The interviewer probes calmly but persistently, follows up on inconsistencies, and tests how you handle ethical tradeoffs without leaning on textbook answers. After your session, you get a scorecard across 6 dimensions including composure, public-service reasoning, and DAF authenticity, with quotes from your own answers tied to each score.
